Patriarshiy prud

Coming across the name of this place, Patriarshiye Prudy, in plural in the literature I thought there were several of them (″Prud″ means ″pond″) I was slightly surprised when I saw the only one pond and moreover it had almost square form. Maybe there used to be several ponds but then this water basin was improved or ameliorated and now this is only one Patriarshiy prud with flat stony embankment, small restaurant alongshore and neat alleys along the perimeter of it.
